Successful sea trials for MT5006 MkII

During the last days, the MT5006 MkII Explorer Yacht has been performing sea trials in the Norwegian Fjords. Keeping a lenght of more than 116 m, the vessel is almost 10 meters longer than its sibling "Ulysses", delivered earlier this year.

The vessel is specially designed for long expeditions in potentially rough waters and bleds a robust, hard-working character with luxurious extras.

The yacht will soon be ready for departure from Kleven Verft, heading for Germany and final interior outfitting before delivery to owner in 2017.

Handover ceremony for MT6022 "SS Nujoma"

In beautiful surroundings, the MT6022 "SS Nujoma" was handed over to its owners, Debmarine Namibia in South Africa. 

More than 100 guests were invited to follow the handover ceremony which took place in Geirangerfjorden, Norway. Both the owners, representatives from the yard, and representatives from the sub-suppliers was present among others.

The vessel will be finalized in Cape Town, where 2000 tons of equipment will be installed, making the vessel ready to extract diamonds from the seabed on the coast of Namibia.

Marin Teknikk secures large contracts of Longliner vessels

Marin Teknikk enter into contracts with Ervik Havfiske about delivery of Design- & Engineering of two new Longliner vessels. The first contract is signed with Frøyanes Junior AS, and the second one is signed with Frøyanes AS.

The vessels will have a length of 54 meters and a width of 13 meters. Both vessels will perform fishing in Southern Ocean in Antartic, and are especially designed with higher ice-class for operations in demanding oceans. The vessels will fish for Patagonian Toothfish, a species of cod icefish found in cold waters.

The vessels will be built with conventional and hybrid propulsion, and keeps accommodation for 28 people.

Marin Teknikk has designed a number of vessels for Ervik since 1995, and is very grateful for the trust shown in these contracts.

Marin Teknikk med nye store linebåt-kontrakter

Marin Teknikk inngår kontrakter med Ervik Havfiske om levering av design- og engineeringtjenester for to nye linebåter. Den første kontrakten er inngått med Frøyanes Junior AS, mens den andre kontrakten er inngått med Frøyanes AS.

Successfully launch of MT5006 MkII "Ulysses"

On Saturday 12th of March 2016, the MT5006 MkII "Ulysses" was successfully launched from Kleven Verft. The owners of "Ulysses", Robyn and Graeme Hart, was onboard the vessel during the launching, experiencing a perfect slide of the slipway. The vessel is 116 m long and can accommodate 66 people.

- She dresses the extra 10 meters very well, states CEO of Marin Teknikk Svein Rune Gjerde, addressing it to the previous 107 meter long MT5006 "Ulysses", delivered from Kleven in 2015. Designing these vessels have been a door-opener for us into this segment.

The MT5006 MkII "Ulysses" is supposed to be delivered from Kleven Verft by July 2016, and there is still some work to be done before Mr. Hart can take over the vessel.

Mr. Graeme Hart clearly indicate that he is very satisfied with the work carried out both from Marin Teknikk and Kleven, and look forward to see this new vessel being finished.

Successfully launch of MT6022 SS Nujoma

Early this morning, on Saturday 9th of January 2016, the MT6022 SS Nujoma was successfully launched from Kleven Verft. Lots of frozen visitors and workers was witnessing a launching without any problems at all.

Specialised for deep water mineral exploration, the vessel is scheduled to be deliverd from the yard in June 2016. 

Upon delivery from Kleven, the vessel will sail to South Africa and Cape Town for final istallation of key equipment.

 
Marin Teknikk to design large Offshore vessel
Kleven Verft has entered into an (MOU) agreement with Debmarine Namibia about building a new MT6027 Offshore vessel of Marin Teknikk design. The vessel will follow the MT6022 SS Nujoma delivered in 2016 to Debmarine Namibia.The new Offshore vessel will be the largest ship ever designed by Marin Teknikk. With a lenght of 177m and a breadth of 27m, it will be a massive vessel with an extensive package of equipment on board. The equipment to be installed is developed by De Beers during a long period of time, specialized for finding diamonds laying in a 4-5 meters' thick sediment layer. The sediments are left on the seabed by the river Oranje during a period of ~3 million years. The vessel will accommodate 109 people and are designed according to the class notation ECO (Clean Design). High focus is given to low fuel consumption, which reduces emission to the environment. Delivery of MT6027 Maersk Installer
On Monday 16th of October, the naming and delivery ceremony was held for MT6027 Maersk Installer. This is the first vessel of four (Project STINGRAY), beeing built by Cosco Shipyard in Dalian China, for Maersk Supply Service.The four MT6027 vessels will have a length of 138 metres, a beam of 27 metres and have a deadweight of 9,700t. Features of the DP3-rated vessels include 1,925 sq. metres of free deck space, accommodation for 120 people (all in one-man cabins) and a 400t AHC crane, rated for operations in water depths of up to 3,000 metres. The vessels will also have the option to install an under deck carousel for 3,000t of product plus be configured for a 275t vertical lay tower over the deck of the moon pool.

MT2007 Yara Birkeland - modelltest ved Sintef Ocean
I dag startet testingen av verdens første autonome containerskip ved Sintef Ocean i Trondheim. Marin Teknikk har designet fartøyet i samarbeid med Yara og Kongsberg, og har sammen med Sintef Ocean bygget en modell som nå blir testet i havbassenget deres i Trondheim.Yara Birkeland blir i full størrelse 80 meter lang, 15 meter bred og har plass til 120 standard 20-fots containere (TEU). Containerskipet vil med full last stikke fem meter dypt, men bare tre meter i ballast. Normal hastighet, som også er bestemmende for skrogform, vil være seks knop, mens totalfart er 13 knop. Yara og Kongsberg planlegger prøvedrift fra andre halvår 2018 med et lite mannskap, plassert i en containerbasert og modulær enhet som kan løftes av. I 2019 begynner tester med fjernkontroll før skipet i 2020 skal kunne seile fullstendig autonomt mellom havnene i Porsgrunn, Brevik og Larvik. F.v. VIDEO: Successful Sea Launch ceremony of MT1112 Argos Georgia
On Friday 15th of September, the MT1112 Argos Georgia was launched in beautiful weather conditions from Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.The 54 m longliner vessel for Ervik Havfiske and Frøyanes AS is a Taylor made fishing vessel designed to operate in the Southern Ocean heading for Patagonian Toothfish. Hildegunn Tunheim Aarsheim from Ervik Havfiske got the honor to cut the moorings and release the vessel from the slipway. The vessel and the sister vessel Nordic Prince is planned for delivery Q1 2018. “These two pcs of new longliner vessels, Nordic Prince and Argos Georgia that we are building for Ervik Havfiske, are rather emotional projects for us. Froyanes which was the first vessel which we delivered to Ervik Havfiske back in 2011 was the pioneering new building project for Tersan Shipyard leading us into the fishing vessel market. Designed by Marin Teknikk of Norway, Froyanes was a big success for all parties that were involved, especially for the owners. The winning team in that project cooperated once again in order to deliver Ervik Havfiske two more state-of-the-art longliners for their fishing operations in the antarctic. As Tersan Shipyard we thank Ervik Havfiske, in particular to Stig Ervik, Kjell-Magne Ervik and Geir Rune Aarsheim, Marin Teknikk, DNV GL and our financer Ziraatbank for their endless support in these projects. MT2007 Yara Birkeland
Yara Birkeland, the world's first autonomous container feeder vessel, is now a step closer to realization, and the model is under its way!In the process by constructing the new container feeder vessel for Yara, we are now preparing a model test together with SINTEF Ocean in Trondheim, Norway. Here, we will test the hull design and speed characteristics, manoeuvrability and seagoing characteristics of the ship model.  Building a prototype model like this, will give us valuable figures and numbers in the optimization phase, before the actual building of the vessel will start.  The vessel is planned to be finalized by Q3-2018, followed by testing with crew, before it will be the world's first autonomous commercial vessel in 2020.

Marin Teknikk designer verdens første autonome nullutslipps containerskip
Marin Teknikk har fått kontrakt med Yara for design av MT2007 "Yara Birkeland". Skipet blir verdens første autonome nullutslipps containerskip, og vil erstatte 40.000 årlige vogntogturer i Telemark mellom Yaras fabrikk på Herøya i Porsgrunn og havnene i Breivik og Larvik.Skipet blir rundt 80 meter langt og skal frakte 100-150 containere pr. tur, og utføre 1-2 turer i døgnet. Marin Teknikk AS with large re-construction job for DOF
The Norwegian shipping company DOF has taken over the former MT6015 Olympic Commander from Nordea, and Marin Teknikk have been awarded a large design & engineering job to get the vessel ready for the 5-years contract with Shell Australia.The vessel will be renamed Skandi Darwin, and will install ROV hangar, service module and arrange lifeboats adjusted to rules of Australia.Skandi Darwin will support the new Prelude FLNG installation offshore Western Australia. Prelude FLNG, the largest floating facility ever built, will produce, liquefy, store and transfer LNG at sea. Skipet som får navnet Skandi Darwin skal blant annet installere ROV hangar, servicemodul og utrustes med livbåter tilpasset australske regler. Skandi Darwin skal yte support til Prelude FLNG anlegget som bygges i Vest-Australia, det største flytende FLNG anlegget som noensinne er bygget. MT6015 Olympic Orion to install 'Walk-to-Work' system
Olympic Shipping has chosen Kongsberg Maritime's new K-Walk integrated vessel gangway solution for installation aboard the Multipurpose Offshore Vessel (MPSV), Olympic Orion. Designed to significantly increase efficiency and safety for Walk-to-Work duties, K-Walk will be integrated with the advanced Kongsberg Information Management System (K-IMS) and the existing K-Pos Dynamic Positioning system on board Olympic Orion, which will be upgraded as part of the installation in the latter half of 2017.Olympic Orion will utilise the innovative K-Walk solution following its launch as part of KONGSBERG's new Integration Strategy in Fall 2016. The system takes a new approach to increasing productivity and efficiency for Walk-to-Work vessels by improving operability of key systems on board. In addition to full integration with K-IMS to enable mission and route planning for increased service capability within a wind farm, the system interconnects with the DP and a planning station. The system extends vessel availability by increasing the operational weather window. Through integrated mission planning, automated vessel manoeuvring and gangway hook-up, K-Walk introduces a step-change for increasing efficiency and productivity of the Walk-to-Work operations that are integral to Wind Farm Construction and Maintenance projects. While providing a completely safe, motion compensated gangway for the fast transfer of personnel and materials, integration enables more efficient approach and settlement at wind turbines and more effective logistics. The system is activated prior to entering a wind turbine's safety zone, reducing vessel speed and launching the K-Walk hook up process during approach. Because of the integration with the DP, the gangway is able to move into position while the vessel is still moving, positioning it safely as the vessel arrives on station. MT6015 Olympic Orion The integration of K-Walk with K-IMS is a unique approach that enables in-depth mission planning, resulting in increased productivity and efficiency by finding the most preferred route for increased service capability within the wind farm. The system will be fully connected with Olympic Orion's DP system, offering increased operability with a new condition based operator environment, which requires less manpower and has minimal training requirements. The K-Walk solution for Olympic Orion will also improve time for mobility and safety with an integrated lift system for transfer of people and goods, including electric trolleys (under design) for movement of pallets across the gangway. Overall, K-Walk significantly enhances operational time efficiency, which improves productivity with the ability to serve more wind turbines within the same time frame. Marin Teknikk has secured a new large contract for advanced Offshore Dive- & Construction vessels
Marin Teknikk has entered into a contract with Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group for delivery of Design & Engineering of two Diving & Construction vessels for Ultra Deep Offshore Ltd. in Singapore. The vessels are a newly developed MT6023 DSCV design, and will be equipped with an 18 men diving system for operations down to 300 m water depth.MT6023 DSCV is an advanced Diving- and Construction vessel developed for demanding operations worldwide. The vessel will have a length of 103 meters and a breadth of 23 meters, top class accommodation for 120 persons plus 18 divers, two heave compensated subsea cranes, one 150 ton offshore crane with depth capability to 3000 m water depth, and one 20 ton offshore crane for operation down to 300 m water depth. In addition, arrangement for 2 WROV’s (unmanned remote operated submarines/robots) for operation down to 3000 meters water depth. The vessels are to be built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group in China, where the first vessel is planned to be delivered Medio 2018 and vessel no. 2 at the End of 2018. Vessel no. 2 is to be finally confirmed by end of April 2016. Marin Teknikk has designed a cost efficient and functional Diving & Construction vessel with high focus on safety for the crew/divers, and following up designing environment-friendly, modern and advanced multifunctional offshore vessels to compete in a market with very low oil and gas prices. Successfully launch of MT6015 IES Energy
On Saturday 26 September 2015 the MT6015 IES Energy was successfully launched at Kleven Verft in Norway. Naming ceremony for MT6021 MkII Olympic Delta
Olympic Delta was given its name by Cassie Dingman in beautiful summer weather in Fosnavåg, on Saturday 4 June 2015. The ceremony was followed by an Open Ship arrangement, where a lot of visitors entered the ship.The 94 meters long vessel is equipped with an active heave compensated subsea crane capable of lifting 80t (900t/m – 30t at 30 meters) and has wire capacity of 2500 meters. The work deck is 900 square meters and has a moonpool of 6m x 6m. The vessel has accommodation for 80 persons. Olympic and Delta will jointly market the vessel to clients for Subsea, IMR and renewable markets or similar work. Marin Teknikk has secured a new large contract for an advanced Dive Support & Constr. vessel for Ultra Deep Charter
Marin Teknikk AS has entered into a contract with China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (CMHI), for design & engineering delivery for a new developed large Multipurpose Diving Support & Construction Vessel to Ultra Deep Charter Ltd. (UDS) in Singapore. The vessel will be of the MT6023 DSCV design, with an 18 men single bell saturation system, for operations down to 300 meters.MT6023 DSCV is an advanced Diving & Construction Vessel developed for demanding operations worldwide. The vessel will have a length of 111.58 meters and a breadth of 23 meters, top class accommodation for 120 persons, two cranes, a 150 T offshore crane with depth capability to 3000 m water depth, and one 10 T crane for operation down to 300m. Naming ceremony for MT6021 Olympic Bibby
The MT6021 Olympic Bibby was given its name in Fosnavåg today by Connie Brown, in a windy but nice ceremony. The vessel has a lenght of 87.75m and a width of 19m, heading straight into duty in the British Sector of the North Sea after the Naming Ceremony.Kleven build number 371, with OCV MT6021 design ‘Oympic Bibby’, has been signed to a contract with Bibby Offshore for 3 years with options for an additional 3 years. The MT6021 Olympic Bibby was developed in cooperation with Olympic, with the first contact at end of May 2013. Contract with Kleven was signed in November 2013, followed by 17 months of total projecting and building time. The vessel has a 60 Ton AHC Offshore Crane with 2000m wire, with 99% compensation at 4.5m wave height & 200m water depth. The work deck area is 820m2.
